LongHouse Reserve will offer Sound Meditation sessions every Saturday morning at 8 am from June19th through September 4th.

The sessions consist of coaching and exercises to deepen meditation through the use of sound.  The session leader, Jim Owen, is a landscape designer who maintains a daily spiritual practice. He has travelled to India several times for study, most recently during the winter of 2010.  Mr. Owen propounds the use of sound vibrations to foster mental alignment with the universe making meditation a true pleasure. Mr. Owen says, “The purpose of using sound before meditation is to allow sound to align the vibrations of the human energy field. Sacred sounds assist the mind in turning inward and focusing on itself.” A member of LongHouse Reserve’s Garden Committee, Mr. Owen also believes in using sound to enhance the spiritual dimension of gardening.

The sessions will be held on First Lawn, past the dome and hedgerow in the quiet of the LongHouse gardens (indoors in case of inclement weather).
Attendees should bring a pillow or beach chair.
