Saturday, April 28

In what would have been Edward Albee's 90th birth year, LongHouse will dedicate our Amphitheater to the memory of Edward's several performances there:  this on our season opening, Saturday, April 28.  At 5:30pm, we will assemble in the Pavilion for a dedication by actress Mercedes Ruehl and the launch of the Edward Albee Memorial Fund for art purchases.  We will finish with a replay of readins by Edward and Elaine Stritch, filmed in 2001, the day he received his LongHouse Award.

Other good news is his first play, The Zoo Story, is now wildly successful as show at the Signature Center, along with Albee's added prequel, Home Life.  Even more exciting is the relaunch of Albee's, Three Tall Women, with a superb cast, at the Golden Theater.
